A Successful Launch!

Well now, that was unexpected.

When we started this podcast we never imagined in our wildest dreams we would be in the Top 100 charts on any platform, let alone a week after launch - yet launch week we made it to number 56 of the Top 100 in Society and Culture and Stitcher. That is mind-boggling, and we’re still reeling from the flood of new listeners. If you’re one of those, thanks for joining us!

Katie and I had previously discussed making a season of content and then producing more in a year, but at this rate it seems that there is an audience who wants historical true crime. Thus, we intend to produce a steady stream of episodes every other week.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us achieve a great launch! If you like our show, share us with your friends and leave a review on your favorite platform, and don’t forget to check out our latest episode.

Welcome to High Crimes and History

High Crimes and History was conceived by Trevor and Katie Rhodes as a blend of true crime and history. The goal was to take the various facets of the true crime genre — establishing facts, reenacting key events, and proposing solutions where the trail goes cold — and apply them to historical time periods, events, and characters beyond the past hundred years. The first episodes take listeners all over the world, from medieval France to Choson Korea, and through various times in history, from the Song Dynasty to turn-of-the-century America.

If you’re looking for a show about historiography, this is not for you. But if you’re looking for a good story based in the historical record, you’ve come to the right place.

Check back in with us on November 5th when we drop the first three podcasts on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, or wherever you get your podcasts.

I’m Trevor Rhodes, and welcome to High Crimes and History.
